National Waffle Day!

What did you have for breakfast this morning? Cereal? Eggs and sausage? Yogurt? Well if you had any of that, you missed out on celebrating National Waffle Day! You read that correctly; today is National Waffle Day. The "holiday" marks the anniversary of the first U.S. patent for a waffle iron, which Cornelius Swarthout received on August 24, 1869.

Now we know that Cherrybrook Kitchen's allergen-friendly and gluten-free Pancake & Waffle mixes weren't around 141 years ago for that first waffle iron, but we can't think of a better way to celebrate National Waffle Day than by using your modern-day waffle iron to cook up a fresh batch of waffles without having to worry about your food allergies. Let us know what you think about National Waffle Day and send us some pictures of you and your family celebrating this, or any, holiday!
